How do I read MD files on my phone?

Open the reader in your phone browser and tap to pick the .md file from your device (iOS Files app or Android storage) — it renders in the tab with reflowed text, readable code blocks and tap-friendly tables. No app install required.

Open the viewer — drag in your .md file →

Reading Markdown on a small screen

Raw Markdown on a phone is unreadable: wall-of-text paragraphs, code that runs off-screen, tables you have to pinch-zoom forever. This reader reflows content for narrow screens — code blocks scroll horizontally inside their own box, tables shrink to fit or scroll section-by-section, and long document tables of contents collapse so you can jump to the section you actually came for. Files stored in iCloud Drive, Google Drive (via the Files picker) or your download folder all work, because reading happens on-device.

How to use it

  1. Go to the MD File Viewer home page.
  2. Drag your .md / README.md file onto the drop zone (or click to browse).
  3. Read the rendered document. Export to HTML if you need to share it.
