Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

Acceptance of these terms

By using MD File Viewer (this website and its tools), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please stop using the site. This site is operated by the MD File Viewer team — see the contact page for how to reach us.

The service

MD File Viewer is a free, browser-based tool for reading and rendering Markdown files. All processing happens locally on your device: your documents are never uploaded to our servers. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and the site is provided without any account or subscription.

Your content

You keep all rights to any file or text you open, paste, or export. Because nothing leaves your device, we never copy, store, review, or license your content. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use the documents you open in the viewer.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site to:

No warranty (provided "as-is")

The tool is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of rendering. Markdown rendering, exports (HTML/PNG), and offline behavior may contain errors. Always keep the original copy of any file you open here — we cannot recover it for you, since we never receive it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the MD File Viewer team shall not be liable for any loss of data, damages, or other claims arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this website. The tool is free to use, and you use it at your own risk.

Third-party open-source software

This site bundles open-source libraries (including marked, DOMPurify, highlight.js, KaTeX, and Mermaid) under their respective MIT, BSD, Apache-2.0, and MPL-2.0 licenses. Those libraries remain the property of their authors and are covered by their own license terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised terms.
